Overview
Come visit Christ the Redeemer, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and combine this tour with a unique insight into local life in a favela. This 4-hour tour offers two distinct experiences for those who want to see a famous tourist attraction, but also want to understand important socioeconomic aspects of our city. We pick you up at your hotel and start at Corcovado. We will drive through the Tijuca Forest in a minivan to the top of the Corcovado mountain to reach the Christ the Redeemer statue. With its arms open to Guanabara Bay, the statue of Christ is a work of art that cannot be compared to anything else. You can sit on the steps in front of the Christ to take the famous picture with the statue on your back. Don’t miss the opportunity to take pictures of the city as well. We combine this tour with a unique opportunity to understand the life of the inhabitants of the favela. We will walk through the alleys, see how the locals live, appreciate their daily life. Home to thousands of people, the favela is a place of resistance with a vibrant culture and much to see. Be friendly and respectful. At the end of the tour, we return to the hotel. We offer this tour twice a day: in the morning and in the afternoon. Tour guide, round trip transfer and tickets to Christ included.
